Dog-friendly tour

Main stops / Tour A 

​

City park, dog adventure park

​

We will start from a big adventure park built specially for dogs.  We will walk through the City Park and we will see the Széchenyi Bath and the Vajdahunyad Castle.

​

Heroes' Square 

​

The Heroes' Square is Budapest’s biggest and mostly visited square, which is aUNESCO World Heritage site. You will get know Hungary’s history, we look at the sculptures of important leading historical persons, the Milleneum Monument and you will hear some interesting stories about the square’s history.

​

Andrássy Avenue 

​

We walk along the Andrássy avenue, which is part of UNESCO World Heritage Site, you will see here nice palaces, buildings, the State Opera House and also our Pest Broadway. You will hear some stories about the history of the avenue’s construction. We will have a break in a nice historical café, which was lately renewed, here we can have a drink, a cake  or/and a coffee.

Erzsébet Square

​

We finish the Tour A at Erzsébet square in the middle of the city. Here we will see the Budapest Eye, nice sculptures and a church.

Main stops / Tour B

​​

Olimpia Park 

 

We will start our tour at the Olimpia Park, which is a rest park and playground for kids and dogs located north from the House of Parliement. There I will show you the Olimpic Memorial. Dogs can have an enjoyable time here.

House of Parliement, "Shoes on the Danube Bank" memorial

​

We walk around the Kossuth square and will see the House of Parliament from outside and nice art nouve buildings. We walk along the Danube promenade and I show you "the Shoes on the Danube Bank" memorial which was created to honoure the Jews who were killed during WW II by fascists.

​Szabadság Square

​

We walk to Szabadság square and look at the statue complex.  This memorial is highly disputed from the beginning of its construction, you will hear the history and also we discover the "Living memorial" which was initiated by the citizens.

St. Stephen' s Basilica

 

We will see the St. Stephen's Basilica and finish our tour here.

What you need to know before we start

  1. Your dog should be socially attuned for city walks.

  2. Dogs must be on a leash.

  3. All dogs must have the compulsory vaccinations.

  4. Please bring dog waste bags for the tour and clean up after your pet.

  5. Pets are allowed on public transport in Budapest, they must have a full price ticket. If they are not in carrier, they must wear a leash and muzzle. 

  6. There are restaurants and cafés welcoming dogs. A sticker outside indicates if they are dog-friendly.

Even if you arrive with your four legged friend to Budapest, you don't have to give up sightseeing. I can suggest you 2 different dog-friendly walking tours. We skip visiting museums and buildings. The tour takes no longer than 2 hours and we will start from a nice park, where the dog can enjoy running or playing, but during the tour you should walk your dog on a leash.

Important to know before you go:

The dog-friendly tour will be a light continuous walking for up to 2,5 hours. 

As it is a private tour we can stop or have a short break if you feel tired.
